Simplexity: Advancing Biotech Engineering Through Strategic Alliances (2017–2018)
Challenge: Biotech and medical device companies needed a more reliable way to accelerate subsystem engineering for point of care diagnostics and clinical instrumentation, but the market was fragmented and lacked a unified community or partnership channel. Solution: Raj led a new business development initiative targeting electrical, mechanical, and embedded engineering needs in the biotech sector. To create momentum and credibility, he formed regional ecosystem through the San Diego Bio Device Alliance (SDBDC), bringing together biotech innovators, engineering teams, and device companies into a shared partnership community. Result: The alliance established Simplexity as a trusted engineering partner within the San Diego biotech cluster, enabling deeper engagement with point of care diagnostic companies, expanding subsystem engineering opportunities, and creating a repeatable relationship driven business development model for the region.
Gupshup: The Conversational AI Unicorn Transforming Customer Engagement (2018-2024)
Challenge: Needed to bypass carrier-controlled messaging and enable Chinese smartphone brands to build direct customer relationships in high-growth markets. Solution: O’Interface partnered with mobile phone giants like Xiaomi and Vivo to embed Gupshup’s IP messaging SDK directly into devices, unlocking carrier-independent conversational messaging. Result: Successfully launched IP messaging on over 120 million devices in India alone, with deep integrations for Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, and other brands across India, Indonesia, and Africa.
MyCocoz: Learning Beyond Boundaries - 7 Schools, 27 Books, 1 Big Idea (2024- Present)
Challenge: Needed to design an engaging ecosystem that combines original storybooks, immersive technology, and hands-on project-based learning for international schools. Solution: Created a blended learning framework powered by custom storybooks, curated VR and AI activities, and teacher-led project modules, deployed through scalable afterschool programs. Result: Successfully partnered with 7 IB international schools, launched 2 pioneering afterschool programs, published 27 original storybooks, and developed over 125 project-based activities, enriching the learning journey with immersive experiences.
Scripps Research- A Top U.S. Research Institution Collaboration: STEM App Platform (2015-2017)
Challenge: Needed a unified system to manage all STEM conference content, including notes, contacts, journals, and research artifacts, across multiple high-level events. Solution: Partnered with Scripps Research to design and develop a single App platform that centralized content management for researchers and attendees, with seamless access and collaboration tools. Result: Secured a flagship contract, gained IP rights to the platform, and quickly scaled the solution to support 10+ paid research and education conferences.
Mobile BigFoot: Wifi Deployments in large scale outdoor concert venues
Challenge: Needed global asset and project management with forecasting, depreciation, approvals, and movement controls. Solution: Deployed Sales Cloud and Service Cloud; built an asset hierarchy with barcode tracking; enforced movement rules; implemented multi-level approval flows; integrated Capex/Opex budgeting and pro forma vs. actual forecasting. Result: Complete asset control, strong financial governance, and efficient project execution.
Shorthand Mobile: The World’s First Visual Browser for Feature Phones—Powered by SMS (2009–2013)
Challenge: Needed to make online content accessible to users on non-data feature phones in emerging markets, requiring innovation in both technology and user experience. Solution: O’Interface led the MVP product design, development, and international go-to-market rollout, including securing strategic alliances and co-authoring design patents. Result: Achieved widespread adoption with 25,000+ weekly downloads through a white-label partnership with the Times Group.
